Governor Schwarzenegger of California vetoed on October 14, 2007 a bill which would have required  retail sellers offering rebates by displaying the net price of the item, to discount at the point of sale the sale price by the  amount  of rebate in exchange for the customer transferring his or her rebate right to such retailer.
